A Fresh Start for P.H. Brouwer BV in Den Helder
Over a year and a half ago, P.H. Brouwer BV was confronted with a devastating fire, which required the entire facility to be rebuilt. The reconstruction was successfully completed by construction company Bouwbedrijf Borst. During the reconstruction phase, there was no doubt about the choice for the industrial doors: the company had been using Salco doors in their previous facility for many years with great satisfaction. For the new location, they chose Salco again, this time with a focus on high-quality overhead cold room doors and fast sliding doors, perfectly tailored to their specific needs and requirements.
Fast doors for busy traffic
P.H. Brouwer BV specializes in growing flower bulbs and operates in a dynamic work environment. Since employees need to move quickly between halls with tall stacks of cubic crates, it is essential that the doors open quickly and are high enough to allow daily operations to run smoothly. For this project, our SPG-1480 double-wing sliding door was chosen. This fully glazed sliding door allows for plenty of natural light and visibility. Thanks to its solid yet lightweight aluminum construction, it’s easy to operate, even at large sizes. The door’s speed reaches up to 2 meters per second, allowing busy traffic to move effortlessly.

Fully accessible cold rooms
For the cold rooms where products are stored, overhead doors that open across the entire width were chosen. This ensures full accessibility to the cold rooms. Our T-280 overhead door also offers excellent insulation, thanks to the high insulating value of its 80 mm thick panels. These doors are not only robust and reliable but also contribute to efficiently maintaining the desired temperatures in the cold rooms, which is essential for storing the flower bulbs.

Energy-efficient passage
In addition to the overhead doors, the double-wing KH-1010 cold room door was also installed. This robust and user-friendly door provides excellent temperature control and contributes to significant energy savings. The door is fully corrosion-resistant and made from high-quality aluminum and polyester, making it both strong and reliable.

Easy-to-operate overhead doors
For other parts of the facility, our T-241 overhead door was selected. This door, with 40 mm thick panels, offers an excellent combination of durability and ease of use. With its compact design and simple operation, the T-241 is a practical and sustainable solution for daily intensive operations.
